San Francisco, CA, May 7, 2015 – On Wednesday, May 13, from 6 pm until 8 pm, SteppingStone, San Francisco’s largest provider of adult day health care, is holding a fundraiser at the South Beach Yacht Club, 899 Second Street (adjacent to AT&T Park). Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served, and tickets are available at $75 each. RSVP to 415.974.6784 x16 or on the website.
Nancy Meyer, a top producing agent with Zephyr Real Estate, serves as Board President for SteppingStone. Meyer has long been focused on serving the senior population. She is a Seniors Real Estate Specialist®, an official designation recognized by the National Association of REALTORS®. Through Meyer’s continuous work supporting seniors, she has developed a vast network of agencies and opportunities for San Francisco’s aging population.
SteppingStone was recently selected to participate in the Mayor’s Inaugural Civic Innovation Lab. This is an organization of alumni from Stanford Design School, sponsored by the Mayor’s Office and funded by the Ford Foundation. This group helped in prototyping a new program to serve middle-income seniors who are largely under-served in San Francisco. SteppingStone was selected for its commitment, desire and the potential for ideas on how it can expand its work and create a diversified revenue base. The program partners with the Mayor, various City departments and residents.
“We are not the ambulance that comes to rescue you,” commented David Wallace, R.N. “We’re the people that help keep that from happening.”
For over 30 years, SteppingStone has assisted low-income seniors and disabled adults to live independently in community. By the year 2020, 20 percent of SF’s population will be over the age of 65, and SteppingStone is expanding the program to fill that need. A brief video about the staff and clients explains more about the scope and success of SteppingStone.
Meyer worked with developmentally disabled adults and children for many years. She then spent over two decades providing marketing and sales services to Fortune 500 and emerging companies. She regularly hosts “Senior Transitions Seminars” to connect seniors with local resources for aging in place. She works from Zephyr’s Noe Valley office and may be reached through her website at www.seniorhomesalesf.com or at 415.426.3339.
