It started as a bit of a joke. But when the Coleman tent that John Potter set up in his parents’ yard and rented on AirBnB for $20 a night received a flurry of interest, he did the logical thing: he began offering it for a monthly rate of $900. The 7- x 5-foot tent comes replete with a sleeping bag, pillow, and pass for one shower a day in the Potter’s house. More importantly, it’s located near Caltrains which offers easy access to Silicon Valley. Three folks have already tested the accommodations in the week that it’s been available, though nobody yet has signed up for the full month of living in a stranger’s yard. [CurbedSF]
