Congratulations to Suhl Chin! She is celebrating her 10-year anniversary with Zephyr Real Estate this April and is based in our Noe Valley office.
Suhl Chin originally came to the Bay Area for graduate school, but she stayed because she fell in love with the city. An avid distance runner, she was energized by all of the trails she could run all over the Bay Area. She has been a marathon runner and has participated in marathons across the U.S. including Boston, Portland, Sacramento, New York, Minneapolis/St. Paul and, of course, San Francisco. She is also a certified Pilates instructor and teaches at Pilates Heights and Sanchez Street Studios in her spare time. Suhl’s other hobbies include yoga, travel, reading fiction and cooking. She is a longtime supporter of GirlVentures, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering pre-adolescent and adolescent girls through outdoor adventures for inner discovery. Suhl is proud to support San Francisco public schools through participation in EdMatch.
We got to know Suhl a little better when catching up with her about her Zephyr anniversary.
1. What neighborhood/city do you live in & why? How long have you lived there and what do you love best about it?
“I live in Bernal Heights in SF. I’ve lived here since September of 1998 and I love it here because it has a bustling small-town feel with lots of energy as restaurants, shops and artists put down roots on every corner. I’ve lived all over SF from Pacific Heights to Lone Mt to Potrero Hill since 1991 when I moved from Berkeley.”
2. What neighborhood have you seen change most in the Bay Area?
“The area I’ve seen the most change is Dogpatch. It used to be old industrial buildings, some abandoned near the waterfront, and a ghost town kind of feel, but now the whole areas is alive with new businesses, restaurants and rehabbed buildings.”
3. Do you have a favorite architectural style or building in the Bay Area? In the world?
“I like the clean lines of 50’s style homes. They can be boxy, but the layout can be opened up and works well for today’s lifestyle of a great room with the kitchen at the center. They are easy to remodel and update.”
