Congratulations to Patricia Ryan! She is celebrating her 2-year anniversary with Zephyr Real Estate this winter and is based in our Upper Market office.
Patricia Ryan’s passion for real estate became apparent far before joining Zephyr Real Estate. As a lifetime entrepreneur who started her first business at just 17 years old, Patricia became interested in real estate through her personal experience of purchasing a Queen Ann Victorian Cottage in Oakland that needed work. After staging, marketing, and selling it herself years later, she was reinvigorated to the point of pursuing it as a new career.
Patricia is able to support her clients, whether buying for selling, with her innately deep knowledge of the San Francisco real estate market. And her professional background in design, marketing, and branding along with her knowledge and expertise assist her in assembling a clear and directed strategy for each of her clients. With a strong understanding of the market movement and trends, Patricia keeps her clients ahead of the curve.
We got to know Patricia a little better when catching up with her about her Zephyr anniversary.
1. What neighborhood/city do you live in & why? How long have you lived there and what do you love best about it?
“When I first moved to San Francisco, the Haight is where it was at! Then came the endless fog which prompted me to buy my first house across the bridge in Oakland. While it was much warmer there, after 5 years of missing the city I decided it was time to come back. The last 8 of my 22 years in the Bay finds me in SF’s ultra-urban SOMA district. I love SOMA because it still has a bit of that East Bay warmth and is constantly changing. This is the new construction hot zone! With new development comes new, local business; pop-up restaurants, boutique bakeries, urban wares, bars…you name it, it is either here or on its way! Plus, everything is within walking, biking or scooting distance. Ahhhh.”
2. What do you love to do in your spare time? Do you have a favorite place to hang out in SF or Marin?
“The classic saying, “Carpe Diem” applies here! Whether I’m working or playing I try to make the most of it. The Bay Area is famous for its windy summers which can be agitating, but then I discovered Kitesurfing! For the last 7 years I’ve been honing my skills on the Bay and abroad.”
3. What neighborhood have you seen change most in San Francisco?
“I’m transfixed on the rapid change we’ve seen in Bernal Heights. What was once a modest, blue collar cottage style neighborhood is now highly coveted and premium priced. The change happened seemingly overnight – but that’s a misconception – prices were steeply climbing in the early 2000’s, only to be smacked down by the recession. It was only in 2012 that this former “B List” neighborhood started on its way to stardom.”
