Congratulations to Jane Mermelstein! She is celebrating her 15-year anniversary with Zephyr Real Estate this summer and is based at our Upper Market office.
Jane Merlemstein has been involved in real estate since 1984 as a homeowner, investor, marketing consultant to commercial real estate developers and as a REALTOR®. She graduated from Tufts University and received her MBA from the Sloan School at MIT. Previous to her work in the industry, she spent many years as an executive and as a business consultant to large corporations, helping them start new businesses, develop, market, and launch new products and improve their operations to better serve customers and enhance their profitability. Today, she brings skills in negotiation, marketing, problem solving, project management and communication to her thriving real estate business.
Jane has been helping clients achieve their goals for over 20 years. She is service-oriented, has an acute attention to detail and has extensive experience in successfully managing complex transactions. Part of her success stems from her ability to simplify the home buying and selling process for her clients. She explains the process in plain English, provides information that helps clients make better decisions, and strives to make each transaction smooth and successful.
We got to know Jane a little better when catching up with her about her Zephyr anniversary.
1. What neighborhood/city do you live in and why? What do you love best about it?
“Bernal Heights! I love the sunny weather, the views, my neighbors and our community—many of us know each other. I love how the longer tenured residents bring a sense of continuity and stability and the new arrivals bring energy and commitment to the community. When I first moved to Bernal, I thought it might be a good place to live for a few years. Now it’s hard to imagine leaving my home and great neighbors.”
2. In your spare time, do you have a favorite place to hang out in the Bay Area?
“Anyplace in, near or on the water! I love the Ocean and the Bay. Swimming, in boats, walking and hiking nearby. My favorite swimming spots are Aquatic Park and China Beach. My dog’s favorite is Fort Funston, and I am always game to take him there to enjoy the beauty of the dunes, the beach and the ocean.”
3. If you could live anywhere else in the world outside of the Bay Area, where would it be and why?
“I can’t imagine leaving! While many cities bring the vitality, culture and energy that I love, no other place offers the beauty, proximity to nature, great light and year-round open water swimming.”
4. What is your favorite part of being a real estate agent?
“I am grateful to work with so many wonderful people—to get to know them, learn about their desires and what they hope to create in the world, and to match new owners with properties, representing buyers and sellers.”
